A professional organization for Victim Service Providers
Description:
The TDCJ Victim Offender Mediation Dialogue Program (VOMD) started in the late 1990s. The program facilitates mediation dialogues between crime victims and offenders who are in TDCJ custody or on parole/mandatory supervision. Creative alternatives to mediation are also an option and typically include a letter written by the victim. Since the program's inception, the VOMD in Texas has had to adjust to the varying needs of the victims and the complexities of all varying crime types. This webinar will discuss the development and use of the VOMD policies and preparation processes including working with victims of sex offenses and family violence.
