TAASA Conference

TAASA's Diversity Task Force continuously works to expand initiatives to reach and effectively serve marginalized victims of sexual assault. The task force is excited to announce scholarship opportunities in the form of financial assistance to attend the 2012 TAASA Annual Conference in San Antonio, TX. Our intention is to honor the spirit of grassroots advocacy and highlight the efforts of those working in Texas with/for underserved populations. In line with our mission, this scholarship is open to anyone who demonstrates dedication to and promotes social justice within hard to reach populations.

Mission:
The TAASA Diversity Task Force facilitates access to reliable and accurate resources regarding diversity issues. We inform, empower and support service providers in their goals to offer culturally appropriate and sensitive services to survivors of sexual assault from diverse communities.

Who is Eligible?
Excellent work in / with underserved populations
Direct service/ front line staff at a Texas agency
Work with intervention and outreach regarding sexual violence and/or social justice within underserved populations in the state of Texas

IMPORTANT DATES:

• Scholarship Application Deadline - January 13, 2011
• TAASA Conference Registration opens - First week of January 2012
• TAASA Conference Registration Deadline - February 3, 2012
• Diversity Task Force members will select scholarship recipients - January 20, 2012
• Recipients announced - January 20, 2012
