TVSA Membership Levels

 ADVOCATE

Advocate membership shall be open to individuals, whether paid or unpaid, who provide direct services* to crime victims, survivors of crime and lawful representatives of crime victims.
 ADVOCATE   LIFETIME
Advocate Lifetime membership shall be open to individuals, whether paid or unpaid, who provide direct services to crime victims, survivors of crime and lawful representatives of crime victims.

Individuals must have held membership in TVSA for a minimum of five years to be eligible for Advocate Lifetime membership.

 AGENCY

Agency membership shall be open to public or private organizations and agencies that provide direct victim assistance, mandated victim notification and/or victim compensation services to crime victims.

To qualify as a direct service provider, an agency must provide at least one core victim service outlined in the Advocate level membership section. *

Each agency membership encompasses up to four individuals who receive the benefits of its membership.

 ALLY

Ally membership shall be open to individuals who do not provide direct services to crime victims but who support the mission and work of TVSA.

 APPRENTICE Apprentice membership shall be open to individuals who are currently enrolled full time in a university or college and who may or may not provide direct services to crime victims but support the mission and work of TVSA.
 AFFILIATE Affiliate membership shall be open to public or private organizations and agencies who do not meet the criteria for agency membership but support the mission and work of TVSA.

Individuals or agencies must provide at least one of the following core victim services in order to qualify as a direct service provider

  • 24 hour hotline for crime victims
  • 24 hour shelter or safe house for crime victims
  • Legal, medical, financial or housing advocacy referrals and/or services for victims and their families
  • Crisis intervention, counseling or other therapeutic or healing interventions for crime victims
  • Community education and/or prevention services directed at issues related to crime victimization
  • Prosecutorial based advocacy services for misdemeanor and/or felony crime victims
  • Post-conviction victim services
  • Mandated victim notification
  • Hold the role of victim advocate, victim advocate coordinator or officer in any federal, state, county or local law enforcement agency or prosecutor’s office
